Baltimore Child & Adolescent Response System (BCARS)
BCARS provides comprehensive community-based services for children in mental health crises. BCARS works in partnership with the Baltimore City Department of Social Services to provide stabilization and crisis intervention services for children in traditional, kinship or treatment foster care. BCARS offers a wide range of mental health care and works to keep children and teens out of jail and in situations where they can find stability. BCARS also runs a 24/7 mental health hotline. Esperanza Center
The Esperanza Center is a comprehensive resource center whose mission is to welcome immigrants by offering hope, compassionate services, and the power to improve their lives. Their dedicated staff and volunteers provide services related to education, health care, immigration legal matters, family reunification, anti-trafficking, and general community support to thousands of immigrants each year. Guiding Eyes for the Blind
Guiding Eyes for the Blind provides guide dogs to people with vision loss. They are passionate about connecting exceptional dogs with individuals for greater independence. Guiding Eyes provides its services completely free of charge. They are involved in every aspect of the guide dog journey, from the breeding and fostering of puppies to the training and placement of each dog with the right person who is then provided with all the support they need. Baltimore Community ToolBank
Saturday, March 25
Meet at the Parish Center at 9 am then leave for the ToolBank located at 1224 Wicomico Street, Baltimore 21230; volunteers will be serving no later than 1 pm. Ages 14 and up (those under age 18 need an adult with them) Limit: 20 participants
Join fellow parishioners in helping the ToolBank clean and prepare tools and equipment. The ToolBank serves community-based organizations by providing tools, equipment, and expertise to empower their most ambitious goals. REGISTER HERE
Weekend Backpacks
Monday, March 20
Meet at the Parish Center at 9 am then leave for Weekend Backpacks located at 1505 Bedform Avenue, Pikesville; volunteers will be serving from 10-11 am. Ages 10 and up (those under age 18 need an adult with them) Limit: 20 participants
Volunteers will first hear about the mission of Weekend Backpacks as well as the issue of food insecurity in Baltimore. Then volunteers will pack food bags/perform tasks that help the organization set up and complete the packing process. In one hour, 20-25 people can pack 630 bags. REGISTER HERE
